This is our highest level of care, offering the most structure and supervision. Although there is no pre-determined length of stay, most of our patients remain at this level for 30-days. An extended stay is available, if clinically indicated.
While in Primary Residential treatment, patients participate in therapeutic activities from 8:45 A.M. until 4:30 P.M. and attend daily 12-Step meetings. Shortly after admission, patients will participate in a psychiatric evaluation. Consults with the Medical Director/Psychiatrist, for medication management, as needed, are included at no additional cost to the patient. Each patient is assigned to a Primary Therapist for treatment planning and case-management, as well as two individual therapy sessions each week.
Patients share a two-bedroom/ two-bath apartment with one to three other patients, where they prepare their own meals. There is no additional fee for groceries and the clients shop weekly at a nearby grocery store, with staff supervision.
Upon returning from 12-Step meetings each evening, time is allotted for the completion of treatment plan assignments and fellowship. Alternatives staff will plan recreational activities on the weekends. With the approval of the Primary Therapist, patients may have passes to spend time with family members on Sunday afternoons.
